Near the top of an extremely tall mountain there was an expansive cave. Within it lived something immensely powerful; a dragon. His name was Kylarth. He was a very large beast with a deep crimson coloring and huge powerful wings. His underbelly, along with wing webbing, horns, claws, and of course teeth, were a bright alabaster white. He was known by the nearby people as Kylarth, Champion of the People. For he was a surprisingly kind and gentle beast, as far as dragons were concerned. On occasion, if the people had a serious issue they would approach his great cave with an offering and a plea for help. More often than not, he would do his best to assist them. They knew not to push their boundaries and not to bother him with trivial nonsense, seeing as above all else he was still a dragon.

They would venture the treacherous path up to his abode and lay down an offering of gold and other treasures. He would then meander forward to hear the plea of the mortals who had come to request his assistance. Usually it was something having to do with another dragon, slaughtering their people or terrorizing their livestock. The people didn't know what it was that he did, but the problem would always resolve. There were legends among the people of his ferocity and cunning, that he could fight any dragon and destroy with a blast of his breath. He was a lightning dragon, his breath causing massive damage to any enemy who would come before him.

One early morning, Kylarth heard a small ruckus outside the mouth of his cave. He began walking his way out to see that gathered before him was a fairly large sized group of humans. As they began to hear his large heavy steps approaching, they called out to him. "Oh great Kylarth! Kylarth, Champion of the People! We beseech you! Please come to our aid." He made his way to be visible and saw the reason so many humans had come along, they had brought him more of an offering than they ever had before. "What ails you, mortals?" he knew something really had them afraid if they brought him so large of an offering. "Great dragon.. Please. There is another dragon.. One of legend who has returned to plague us. It is Vallerth the Cruel. Vallerth the Hungry. He has returned." The great red dragon cocked his head in confusion, he had never heard of a Vallerth. "They call him the great black death.. The unending hunger... He has been picking us off for his meals. Please, great dragon. Venture down the mountain near the sea and slay this menace. Save us!" Kylarth agreed, pulling their offering into his cave as the group began back down the mountain.

Once he had sorted the offering and placed into his massive horde where it would belong, as dragons were known to do, he took flight from his cave and began his descent down the mountain. And just as the humans had described, he came across the wide mouthed opening of a cave. He called out "Vallerth! Come out and face me!" into the cave. He heard from somewhere deep inside the cave, what sounded like a sniffle. After a moment he heard in a moderately quiet voice, "It's not Vallerth. My name is Vollenth." Vollenth? And that voice.. It sounded female. And quite sad. He was unsure what he should do. But due to his mostly kind and caring nature, he found himself walking inside. It looked like any cave occupied by a dragon would, except instead of gold piled up everywhere, it seemed to be strictly silver and platinum. He continued to walk through until he found the occupant of the cave, she was a dragon who was much smaller than he was. Her back had been turned to him, laying down in front of a small nest that she had made out of the softest things she could find. Her head whipped around when he got close, which was when he got a good look at her.

She was mostly black with purple highlights and shining purple eyes. Eyes that were reddened at the moment from tears. "What do you want?!" her voice was full of sadness as well. He ignored her question and stepped forward slightly more, "What is wrong?" he asked gently. She sniffled once more and as her eyes began to fill with tears once again, she slowly stepped to the side of the nest so he could get a better look at what was inside. Getting closer, Kylarth could see what the problem was. Inside the nest was a tiny baby dragon, newly hatched he had to guess. The tiny thing wasn't moving at all, looking like it was just clinging to life. He looked back to Vollenth, questions in his eyes. "I had a clutch of eggs... The one that wasn't destroyed or stolen... She hatched last night. Her egg was damaged.. Her heart is weak... She will barely eat and..." Vollenth was over taken with sadness once more. Kylarth stepped closer to the nest and more closely looked into the nest. The tiny dragon was the spitting image of her mother. "She is beautiful, what is her name?" he said quietly. She sniffled and quietly spoke, "Lythia." "Her name is as lovely as she is." He reached his head out and placed it gently near the little one, she wasn't moving and it sounded as though her heart was slowly pounding out its last beats.

He held his ear to her a moment longer and then listened as her heart stopped. He looked over at Vollenth who's head was down and hidden behind her front claw. Kylarth had a quick idea. He nudged the little one with his head and flipped her onto her back, then he slowly brought out his tongue and pressed it to Lythia's chest. He let his electricity flow down his tongue and run a shock through the newborn's body. He felt her body jolt and then listened closely as her heart started back up, beating much more strongly. Pulling his head away, he stared at her a moment. Lythia's chest began to rise and fall with her breathing, and she slowly opened her eyes.

Vollenth still had her head down, eyes clenched tight with tears. She heard a soft noise, almost like a quiet mewing. Looking up, she saw her baby looking up at her, softly making noises. "Lythia! You are... You..." She smiled and nuzzled her with her head. She looked over to Kylarth. "How did you?" she was baffled as to what just happened. He chuckled lightly and rolled his tongue back out, letting lightning shoot visibly through it. Vollenth managed a small chuckle and did the same with her own, but her's was coated in black fire. Kylarth had never seen anything like it, but Vollenth had turned back to Lythia before she noticed his look of surprise. Kylarth curled himself up nearby, not wanting to leave incase Lythia had another problem. He eventually fell asleep.

He awoke the next morning to find Lythia curled up inside his arms and Vollenth gone. He cursed himself a moment, thinking that the female dragon has abandoned him with the newborn. He heard a soft plop near the mouth of the cave. Silently and gently, he got up without disturbing the sleeping baby and went to see what the noise was. There on the ground was a large pile of fish, along with a few dead mammals. There were a couple wolves, deer and a handful of sheep. It was only another moment before Vollenth swooped back down with a net half full of fish. She had probably either stolen the net or had it thrown at her and just repurposed it. "Oh, good morning Kylarth." She smiled at him and landed, dumping her catch onto the pile. "Good morning Vollenth." He smiled, seeing what had happened. "I thought I would go get us all breakfast since you'd be with Lythia and I would know shes ok." She beamed at him and began to nudge the large pile of food back into her cave.

They gently woke Lythia and let her at the pile first, unsure what she would be drawn too. Turns out, she was a red meat kind of girl. Tearing into the wolf as the two elder dragons chuckled and began filling themselves with fish. "So... I just want to thank you for what you did for me.. I thought I had lost her for sure." Vollenth slowly told him. "Its no problem, I couldn't just watch the little one suffer like that.. I had to try my best to help her." He responded. "I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you." She added. "You don't have to. Oh, actually. The town up above your cave sent me down here to slay Vallerth the Cruel. Is that you?" Vollenth looked down for a long moment, looking like she was reliving something. "No. It's not me. But he is gone now. They probably think I'm him." She said, choosing her words carefully.

"What happened to him?" he was curious, he had never heard of this so-called 'legendary' dragon. "He... Umm. He came out here to find me. He heard of me, Vollenth the Dark. There are very few dragons left with black fire... So when he heard of me, a lone female, he came from far west to come and meet with me. He told me it was our duty to raise a family together, to bring forth a new generation of the black fire dragons. He was horrible... Evil. I refused." She paused for a moment to compose herself, as her voice had grown shaky. She continued, "When I said no, when I told him to leave... He... He..." She cut herself off again, her eyes trailing over to Lythia, asleep next to a half eaten sheep. "He is.. Lythia's father. Once he was done with me... He was sleeping and I.. I killed him. He's gone. And when other's found out I was expecting a clutch of eggs, fathered by the legendary Vallerth... They came to destroy them. All of them were either smashed or stolen.. Except Lythia. Her egg was hidden beneath cracked shells and not fully destroyed. It was damaged.. But she pulled through. She is ok." She looked at her baby and smiled warmly.

Kylarth gently placed a claw on her shoulder. "Vollenth... You are so strong. Lythia is lucky to have you as a mother." He smiled at her. She was on the verge of tears, "Thank you.. I just... Thank you so much." She bent her neck down and leaned her head against his chest, he responded by curling his own neck and leaning his head against hers. "Vollenth... Let me help you." He said after several moments of their embrace. "What? You've already done so much for me... I already can't repay you." She said, shocked. "No, you can repay me." He chuckled slightly, staring into her shining purple eyes with his own deep red ones. "Come live with me, I want to be there for the two of you.. I want to help you both stay safe." He looked at her with genuine care in his eyes. It took some persuading, but eventually Vollenth agreed and the two dragons moved all of her horde into Kylarth's far larger cave. They really grew into a beautiful couple, raising Lythia as their own.

Lythia was about a year and a half old when they found Vollenth was to lay another clutch of eggs. Kylarth was so excited to find out he was going to be a father, not that he didn't already consider Lythia to be his. He had been there since the beginning, and he was the only father she had ever known, she was his. But this was a bit different, he could watch his mate swell with life. He could be there as she laid their eggs and then watch as they hatched.

It had been nearly four months into her pregnancy and she still had about one more to go before she could lay the clutch, but Vollenth's midsection had really swollen outward. She could barely walk, her belly nearly dragging on the ground when she tried. She was sitting on her butt, a very odd position for a dragon to be in, but she was running out of ways to stay comfortable. Her belly was enormous, like she had swallowed another full grown dragon whole. Kylarth came in to see his mate sitting strangely against the wall, her claws gently trying to rub her belly. "What is the matter, Len?" He asked, walking in and pushing a mountain of food for his massive love. "Ky, I wasn't this big last time when I had begun laying, and i'm still over a month out from that!" she exclaimed, looking down at her belly. Kylarth walked over and nuzzled his head against her belly. He could feel the outlines of the eggs inside her, like her belly was full of enormous oval stones. "Sorry my love, they get that from me... I've always been a big one." He chuckled and returned to his task of getting the food closer to her.

"I'm a bit on the small side... And these eggs are enormous!" She chuckled, looking herself over. Her belly was a massive swollen boulder of her flesh, the eggs inside her pushing her skin out round. It was over six feet around and six feet forward, completely jam packed with eggs. When she was able to press her own claw against her belly, she could feel the eggs inside, massive ovals that were sturdy like rocks. If she was very still, she could just barely feel them moving about inside the eggs. Sometimes if she was walking too quickly, she swore she could hear the light clacking of the eggs tapping together inside her.

Kylarth finished moving the mountain of food within her reach. "Here you are, love. Breakfast." He smiled and nuzzled his head against the side of her belly while she began to dig into the massive pile. Kylarth always brought her as much as he could, her belly had swollen up gigantically and he knew that is was all from him. Lythia was a little thing and probably wouldn't be getting much larger than mother was once she reached full size. But with how big his mate had swollen, he wouldn't be surprised if the new clutch were the size of their older sister when they first hatched.

Kylarth's ears twitched as he heard a racket from outside his cave. Leaving his massive mate to her meal, he ventured back to the mouth of the cave. Nearly the entirety of the people from below his cave had gathered. "Kylarth! Our champion!" "What is it?" He asked them, seeing a large pile of treasure infront of his cave. "We... We wanted to thank you. For getting rid of Vallerth. Black fire dragons are extremely dangerous and must be taken care of. We haven't seen him in nearly two years and we know it must have been you who got rid of the awful monster." Kylarth's eyes narrowed. "I would watch your mouth, mortal." The humans seemed taken aback. "Are you the humans that snuck into Vallerth's cave and destroyed the eggs?" He asked them, eyes still narrowed in anger. They nodded slowly. "He is a tyrant! We couldn't let his spawn loose on the world!" They explained. "That cave didn't not belong to Vallerth, it belonged to a different dragon. One who had never harmed anyone. One who killed Vallerth and then had her eggs destroyed by you after doing you all a service. Speaking of which.." The humans were getting visibly more afraid and could only stand like statues as they saw Kylarth turn his head and call back into his cave. "Lythia! Come out here! You too, Len!" His great voice echoed into the cavernous dwelling.

Lythia was quickly to his side, her tiny body carried swiftly by her rapid wings. She came to rest atop his head. "This is my daughter, Lythia. The lone survivor of your attack." His voice was like acid. Lythia was still quite young and didn't completely understand what was going on, but she knew her daddy was very angry. "Poppa?" She asked, flying down infront of him. He looked down and saw her tiny face with a very frightened expression. He gently smiled and pulled her close, "No, its ok sweetie. Poppa isn't mad at you. No go play." She smiled and flew happily back into the recesses of the cave. The humans were still standing extremely still, too frightened to move. He turned back to face them, the glare in his eyes nearly lethal. Then they began to hear heavy footsteps. Heavy, ground-rumbling, and very slow coming closer. Kylarth scooted his body closer to the side to make room for his mate, who slowly joined him. "This is my mate, Vollenth the Dark."

The humans were so frightened to see the great black fire dragon before them that they didn't notice how massive her middle was. "Now, if you all know what is good for you, you will do nothing to ever disturb my family again." He warned, his voice like daggers dripping with poison. "If the smallest bit of harm comes to our clutch by your hands, consider it a death sentence." That was when they all looked more closely and saw the enormous belly on Vollenth. "Go lay back down, Love." He nuzzled at her belly with his head as she nodded and disappeared back into her cave. "Now, I suggest you give me a good long time to think about what you have done to me before you come back up here and ask for my help again. You may leave." He turned back to them as Vollenth disappeared from view. The nodded hastily and fled.

He scooped up their offering and placed it where it would stay before he returned back to his family. "Did you hear what happened?" Kylarth asked his mate. She nodded solemnly, finally knowing the exact fate of her first brood. "I'm sorry, Len. If I had known..." he bowed his head to her. "Don't feel bad, it isn't your fault. Besides... We will have plenty of our own soon enough." She smiled a gentle smile and gestured to her sheerly massive center. Vollenth was still greatly saddened by the loss of her first clutch, but the fact that she was expecting another with a mate who actually cared about her and their offspring did give her something to look forward to and to take her mind off of what had happened in her past.

Her last month of carrying seemed to go by quickly enough, her eggs only grew a bit more to accommodate the large dragons within her, but the main change was how heavy she was getting. Each egg was getting heavier with the growth of the dragons inside it and she could feel her stomach weighing her down even more so. She wasn't even sure if her wings would be able to lift her, not that Kylarth was letting her out of the cave anyway. He didn't trust the humans nearby and because of this, she was not to leave the cave in her current delicate state. When he had to leave to get food or for any reason, he blocked the entrance to their cave with an enormous boulder. He also blocked their cave at night while they slept. They still had plenty of light, during the day sunlight came through small cracks around the cave and at night they light the torches that lined their walls.

It was one morning when the two of them had awoken, yet their little one still slept. Vollenth suddenly had a visible shudder go through her body. Kylarth quickly rushed to her side. "Len? What's wrong?" he worried. "I can feel them.. The eggs are shifting down... They are ready to be lain." She smiled, although he could see the tired look in her eyes. They both knew this was not going to be easy on her, the eggs were very large and her body really wasn't. Kylarth slowly accompanied her to the nest they had prepared for her to be as comfortable as possible.

There was a large nest made of only the softest material, which Kylarth helped Vollenth up into. She made herself comfortable and Kylarth took this last chance to rub his head and nuzzle against her large belly. She was extremely large and exceptionally heavy, both of them were very glad that they were there together throughout her pregnancy. Neither of them were really sure how she would have dealt with this magnitude of maternity alone. She smiled down at him, appreciative of how helpful and wonderful he was to her. Another violent shudder traveled down her spine. "Urgh... They are ready." She informed him, getting as comfortable as possible. "What can I do to help?" He asked, bringing his face back to hers. "Just... Can you scoot them as they come out so they don't land on each other? I don't want anything to happen to them." She said slowly. He nodded firmly and went back to stand near the base of her tail, waiting for their eggs to appear. "Ok... Here we go.." She said quietly and began pushing.

The sounds of her struggling echoed throughout the chamber as she attempted to push the eggs out. A usual black fire dragon egg was about the size of a barrel, but lightning dragons were a bit larger. And then again, Kylarth was the largest lightning dragon that Vollenth had ever seen. The first egg finally began to crown and she heard a small "Whoa" from her mate. This concerned her greatly. "What's wrong?!" She asked through her pain. "Nothing! Nothing at all... It's just.. The egg is beautiful." She smiled and continued, loving how proud he was to be a father. The first egg finally reached its widest point, and with a loud yell and a huge amount of effort, it slid out and landed softly in the nest. Kylarth gently rolled it into a smaller nest they had made to hold the eggs until they hatched. Vollenth didn't waste anytime, she began pushing again to continue to try and get the eggs out. Now that one egg had come through, the rest would be a little easier.

It was around an hour or so before all of the eggs had been lain and Vollenth was resting from her great effort. The eggs were definitely large, nearly twice the size of a usual black fire egg. But she had managed to do it and was now completely exhausted. Kylarth walked back over to her nuzzling his head against hers. "You did amazing, my love. They are all sitting safe and sound in their nest." He smiled, so proud of his mate. "Thank you, Ky. How many are there?" She asked, her pain making some of the births blur together. "We have a grand total of 7." He smiled. "Oh wow. I only had 5 the last time." She added. "Honey, you really need to look at these eggs. They are so beautiful." He urged her. She chuckled a bit, still thinking he just was a proud father.

She slowly got up to her feet, her exhaustion still prominent, but without the heavy belly full of eggs to weigh her down, moving was rather easy. She turned and was able to see the eggs. "Whoa..." She said quietly as she walked over to the nest. The large eggs were truly beautiful. They were swirled patterns of colors, no two eggs were the same. Of their four different colors, each color combination was represented. The largest egg, the one right in the middle of the nest was a deep black color with swirling white across it. While their smallest egg was all four of their colors swirled together. "I've never heard of something like this... This is amazing." She said, staring in awe at her brood. They continued to stare for a while until they felt a small presence between them. Looking down they saw Lythia.

"Momma?" she asked in her small voice. "Yes my little one?" She smiled and bent her head down to her level. "You ok? Hurt?" She asked timidly. The two adult dragons looked at one another, realizing when Vollenth was laying their eggs, her loud sounds of pain must have woken and frightened the little one. She knelt back down to the their little girl. "No, Momma is ok, sweetheart. Remember when Momma and Poppa told you that you were going to be a big sister?" she smiled and nuzzled the tiny dragon. Lythia smiled wide and nodded excitedly. "Look over here, Lythia. Your baby brothers and sisters are right here." Kylarth gestured to the nest. Her eyes went wide as she scampered over to the eggs. She weaved her body through the nest, looking over all the different eggs. "Whoa.... Ooo! This one me!" She giggled as she pressed her body up against the purple and black egg. Her parents chuckled. "Yes, that one does look like you." They smiled at her as she explored.

"So, are you hoping for more little sisters or little brothers?" Kylarth smiled as he watched Lythia still laying in the egg next. Vollenth went to go rest after her effort. "Seesters!" She said excitedly. She wrapped her body around the four color egg. "This my seester!" She smiled, hugging the egg. Kylarth smiled, knowing that they wouldn't know their babies genders for a while longer when they hatched.

It was a couple weeks before they started to hear noises from within the eggs, meaning they could begin to hatch at anymore moment. It was late one night when Kylarth was awakened by a gentle tapping noise. Quietly going to investigate, he saw the eggs beginning to twitch and move. He barely could contain his excitement, he rushed to wake his wife and daughter, not unlike like a child on christmas waking his parents. "Honey! Sweetie!" he nudged the two of them until they awoke. "It's happening!" He said excitedly and ran back off to the nest. It took the two females a moment to realize what he was talking about before they both quickly arose and followed after him.

The three of them all stood around the nest, watching intently. The black and red egg was the first to have a crack in the side as the small dragon within began making its way out. They saw the egg burst open at the site of the crack and a red dragon pushed its head out. They saw black accent colors on it from the start and watched as it pushed itself out of the egg and flop out of the nest. The largest egg was next, the black and white swirled egg barely had time to crack before the largest of the baby dragons pushed its head out. They weren't expecting it, but the baby was a swirl of black and white all across its body, not just two separate colors. They watched as the first two babies instinctively began munching on the eggs they had just hatched from, the protein and the nutrients essential for them to begin growing their strong teeth. The rest of the medium eggs all began to shake and have the babies within them emerge shortly after. The smallest egg, the swirled four color was only barely shaking even after the others had all emerged and had eaten their eggs.

Vollenth and Kylarth watched with heavy hearts as they weren't sure their smallest egg would hatch. The runt of their litter might not be strong enough to make it out. They were surprised as Lythia jumped up and rushed to the egg. "Seester! Come out!" She nudged the egg with her head. The large black and white swirled hatchling slowly made his way over to his older sister and unborn sibling. He began nudging against it as well. Over a few moments, all the newborns made their way to the egg and were nudging against it, trying to coax the little one out. The two parents watched as they did this, they weren't cracking the egg, but they were weakening it slightly as they gently knocked it around amongst them.

After several moments they saw a crack appear in the side of the egg, closest to Lythia. "Seester?" She said quietly. They could hear the knocking from inside the egg, the smallest one trying to get out. Vollenth and Kylarth waited with held breath for what seemed like an eternity until a small hole appeared in the egg. The hole began getting bigger as the little one tore from it to escape. Slowly, the little head of the dragon popped out. "Seester!!" Lythia smiled as the colorful little one got some air in its lungs as was eventually able to get out of its egg. The little one was beautiful, the pattern like its largest sibling, swirled about its entire body instead of just confined to different areas. But unlike its largest sibling, the little one was all four of their colors.

Once all the little ones were hatched and their smallest one was able to eat its shell for its first meal, they went over to clean them all up and make sure they were all healthy. Which, luckily, they were. They had four girls and three boys. Their first born, the black/red, along with the white/red, purple/white and their colorful runt were all females. Which left their largest, the black/white, as well as the black/purple and the purple/red as their boys. Lythia was so excited that her colorful little "seester" was finally here.

They took turns naming the little ones, the female black/red was Galzra, male purple/red was Rhaegos, female white/red was Raziel, male black/purple was Cadrienth, female purple/white was Jevith, the large male black/white was Tyrath, and their smallest female all colors was Avrae. It did take them a little while to get into the swing of things, they went from being a family of three to a family of ten. But once they got into a rhythm, things were smooth and they were all quite happy. What both Kylarth and Vollenth were curious about was what kind of elements they would have.

As it turned out, most of them were to be expected. Galzra and Jevith were both regular fire dragons. Rhaegos and Raziel were both lightning dragons. Cadrienth, who looked exactly like his mother and oldest sister, was a black fire dragon like they were. But Tyrath and Avrae were unique, as was to be expected. Tyrath ended up being a lightning dragon like his father, but his lightning was black. Black lightning was something neither of them had ever heard of. And Avrae was a fire dragon, but her fire was a rainbow of colors. Not just purple and red, but all the colors of the spectrum. It was beautiful, and also completely unheard of.

It had been about a year since their clutch had hatched when early one morning Vollenth heard something near the mouth of the cave. Kylarth had gone off hunting early that morning, and their children were still all sleeping. She quietly made her way to the entrance and saw a crowd from the village standing there with a massive horde of gold and platinum. They cowered when they saw that Vollenth was the one heading their call and not Kylarth. "Yes?" She asked of them, as they were all standing silently. "Umm.... Is Kylarth here?" One brave soul piped up. "No, he is out. Just me. And our brood." She said, her voice growing bored and slightly annoyed. "Umm.. Well... We came to apologize." One woman stepped forward. "Oh? Apologize?" Vollenth was surprised. "Yes... We realized what we had done and have spent over a year gathering up this offering to you. As an apology and a thank you for vanquishing the evil Vallerth."

Vollenth shuddered a moment, reliving that night. "Umm.. Yes. Well, thank you." She said, quietly. The woman stepped forward a little moreso. "I would like to apologize again for what was done to you... I know what it is like to lose children... That is pain a mother should never go through." Vollenth could see the pain on this woman's face and nodded back to her. "Well, what is done is done. And there is always hope for the future. In fact... No one move." Vollenth smiled. She turned her head back into the cave and let out a roar that echoed back into the recesses of the deep dwelling. The humans stayed completely frozen still, unsure what was coming. It was only a moment before Lythia came and landed down on the ground next to her Vollenth. "Yes, Mother?" she asked, her speech having improved much over the last year. "Are your siblings awake as well?" She asked her. "Yes, you definitely gave a loud enough wake up call. They are all right behind me. I just told them to wait until I saw what was happening." "That's my girl." Vollenth turned to the crowd.

"This is Lythia, our oldest. The lone survivor of the.. Incident." she said, gently. "Cadrienth!" She called, the tiny black fire dragon coming to land next to his sister. "And this one is Cadrienth. They are two that are like me, no other Black Fire dragons came from our union, if you are interested in that information. He was a thin little one, with a thinner and faster build than some of his other siblings. "Alright, go play you two." She smiled and the two small black and purple dragons flew back into the recesses. "Galzra! Jevith!" she called back, and two more little dragons flew forward. "This is Galzra," She gestured to the black and red dragon, "and Jevith." She gestured to her little purple and white dragon. "They are both fire dragons." Galzra was the smaller of the two and her face had a much more mischievous look to it. Her wings were large though, making her exceptionally fast. Jevith had a much more gentle nature to her, her eyes wide and curious. "Alright, back inside." She nudged them back in. Galzra speeding back in on her powerful wings, while Jevith slowly walked back inside. "Rhaegos! Raziel!" She called once more, as two more dragons sped to her. "These are Rhaegos," She gestured to the stocky purple and red dragon, "and Raziel." She pointed to the white and red dragon. Rhaegos was stocky and thick, showing that he would grow up to be quite large, much like his father. Raziel was a little more average sized, not overly small and not overly large. "They are both lightning dragons, like Kylarth." She explained before sending them back in.

"Ok, so we have two children left. But they are more unique than any dragons i've seen in all my years." She began, piquing the interest of all the humans before her. They had already been enthralled with the showcase of dragons in colors they had never seen before, but this was quite interesting to hear. "Tyrath! Avrae!" She called, hearing the flapping of wings coming toward her. The two swirling color dragons landed infront of her, and a sharp intake of breath was heard from the humans. "This is Tyrath." she gestured to him, his swirling black and white coloration very prominent out in the light. He was quite large, definitely the largest of the brood. He was already showing the beginnings of being very strong and muscular. "And this is Avrae." She smiled at the little four color swirling dragon. She was the smallest, her health being a concern for her parents for a long time, but she had finally reached a point where they knew she would be alright.

The woman stepped forward slightly. "They are beautiful, all of them." She smiled. Vollenth beamed proudly. "Just wait." She turned to Tyrath. "Alright Honey, show them how far you can shoot." Tyrath puffed up his chest, ready to impress. He walked out a little farther so he wouldn't hit anyone by accident. He opened his mouth and shot his lightning out far into the air, the black crackling energy traveling far into the open sky. The humans were shocked, they had never seen black lightning before. Tyrath turned around, seeing all the shocked expressions and taking it as praise for his distance. He walked back to his mother, his chest still puffed out with pride. "That was amazing, Honey. Go inside and play." He smiled and flew off to join his siblings. "Alright my little one, your turn." Vollenth grabbed a small silver goblet from their offering pile and placed it infront of Avrae. The little dragon was cowering next to her mother's leg, obviously not having the same confidence of her brother. "Can you show them how good you are at melting, my little sweetheart?" She smiled, coaxing the little one to step forward. She slowly pulled in air and then unleashed her rainbow torrent of fire on the goblet. The beautiful flames engulfed the small cup, the colors dancing through the air. The crowd of humans all let out a gasp of surprise at the beautiful fire. Avrae finished her breath and gave a small smile at the melted pile of silver before returning to cower next to her mother. "That was amazing, Avrae. Go back inside, its ok." She smiled as the tiny one scamped back into the safety of the cave. "They are rather unique." She smiled to the humans, proud of her children.

It was at that moment that Kylarth landed down next to them, a huge net full of fish and freshly killed animals in his mouth. Setting the bag down gently, he greeted them. "Hello everyone, I see you met my mate more formally. And our children." He said, his voice even. They nodded, explaining to him why they were there, telling him the same thing they told Vollenth. After a short conversation they seemingly had made amends the with the humans of the town and everyone began saying their goodbyes. As they watched the humans walk back down the mountain, Vollenth and Kylarth began pushing their addition to their horde inside. "Kids! Sorting time!" Vollenth called out, watching as all the baby dragons flew to the pile of treasure and began putting it in the correct piles, sorting it by type of precious metals or stones. Once that was done, Kylarth unloaded his huge catch of food onto the floor of the cave and watched as all of the children attacked the pile with gusto.

Vollenth and Kylarth watched as their children destroyed the pile before them, some of them eating their food raw, some of them roasting or zapping their food before consumption. Vollenth rested her head against Kylarth's strong neck and giving him a loving nuzzle as they watched their brood with pride.
So, I wanted to write a short litle story about a dragon. I've never done something that wasn't about humanoid characters. And then... It turned into this. So... Here is this thing.
